Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi said on Friday that the European Medicines Agency (EMA) may never approve Russia's Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus.

Draghi also spoke against China's Sinovac jab, claiming it is "not adequate" to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier this month, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) noted it got a "positive review" from the EMA and expects Sputnik V to receive the agency's approval within the next two months. Meanwhile, the Chinese vaccine was got emergency use authorization from the World Health Organization (WHO) in early June.
