DUP concerned over EU's letter, Dodds says

Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) Deputy Leader Nigel Dodds (pictured) stated on Monday that he sees nothing new in the letter sent to British Prime Minister Theresa May by presidents of the European Council and European Commission, Donald Tusk and Jean-Claude Juncker.

Dodds went on to say that the message only "bolstered concerns" over the Northern Irish backstop. "Instead of meaningless letters, the prime minister should now ask for and deliver changes to the withdrawal agreement," Dodds added.

In the letter sent to May earlier today, Tusk and Junker promised to "work speedily on a subsequent agreement by 31 December 2020" in order to ensure that the contentious Irish backstop clause is never triggered.
