Dutch daily COVID cases hit record at 36,308

The Dutch health authorities reported on Sunday 36,308 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, a new record high for the country. There have been 3,568,999 cases since the start of the pandemic. Officials also stated the death count in the Netherlands rose by seven to 21,155.

Anti-lockdown protests are underway in Amsterdam even after the government decided to ease the restrictions on Friday. Non-essential businesses are allowed to reopen, although with shorter working hours, while bars and restaurants will be closed until the end of the month.
