Earnings push Wall Street higher premarket

Shares on Wall Street moved up in premarket trading on Tuesday after upbeat earnings reports from United Technologies, Coca-Cola, Twitter, Procter & Gamble, Verizon and Lockheed Martin. On the other hand, Harley-Davidson reported a year-on-year decline of 20% in earnings per share.

After trading flat premarket earlier in the morning, the Dow Jones Industrial Average index increased 0.23% at 8:03 am ET. The Nasdaq 100 added 0.09% at the same time, while the S&P 500 advanced 0.11% in premarket trade.

The euro dipped 0.10% against the dollar at 8:04 am ET, to sell for $1.12466.
