EasyJet reports revenue at £2.3B in H1, up 7.3% YoY

British budget airliner EasyJet plc announced on Friday its total revenue for the first half of the fiscal year 2019 stood at £2.3 billion, rising 7.3% compared to the same period a year ago. The company said its total loss before tax amounted to £272 million for the period, expanding significantly compared to a loss of £68 million reported in the first half of 2018.

Meanwhile, ancillary revenue was £519 million for the first half of this year, improving 14.3% year on year while passenger revenue amounted to £1.8 billion, up 5.5% compared to the same period of 2018.

EasyJet CEO Johan Lundgren said that the first half of 2019 saw a performance that was in line with expectations while the company plans to have a significant focus on H2 delivery, with customers, revenue, operations and cost in focus. The airline plans to invest in strategy in order to win customer loyalty and increase value through efficiency, according to Lundgren.
