ECB minutes: Sentiment over trade has improved

The European Central Bank's Governing Council assessed at its last meeting in December that sentiment in the monetary union has improved in regards to global trade, minutes released on Thursday showed.

From October until the last month of 2019, there has been "increased optimism among market participants," the policymakers have said. However, council member Philip Lane thought that "uncertainty remained elevated" when it comes to trade growth in the period. Meanwhile, inflation expectations remained low.
