Economy to recover at moderate pace - BoJ's Kuroda

Governor of the Bank of Japan (BoJ) Haruhiko Kuroda said he expects the country's economy to start recovering moderately after experiencing a downturn amid the coronavirus pandemic due to restrictions remaining in place.

With countries around the world still cautious about the virus, Kuroda claimed the BoJ will closely monitor the impact of the disease, noting the central bank is not going to hesitate with regards to implementing further monetary easing in order to maintain the stability of the financial system and ensure its timely recovery.

He went on to stress that the nation's economy is already showing signs of picking up as exports and output increase reflecting moderate overseas recovery.
