EIA: US crude inventories down by 3.1M barrels

United States crude oil inventories decreased by 3.1 million barrels to 482.4 million in the week ending June 14, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.

Crude oil refinery inputs averaged 17.3 million barrels per day during the same week, which is 200,000 barrels more than the previous week's average. Refineries operated at 98.9% of their capacity. Meanwhile, gasoline production was up compared to the week before, averaging 10.4 million barrels per day.

Crude oil imports averaged 7.5 million barrels per day last week, down by 144,000 barrels per day from the previous week. Total commercial petroleum inventories fell by 0.4 million barrels.
