EIA: US crude inventories rise by 8.2 million barrels

US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported on Wednesday oil inventories increased by 8.2 million barrels in the week ending March 3 to 528.4 million barrels. Week before that, oil stocks rose by 1.5 million barrels.

Crude oil refinery inputs averaged 15.5 million barrels per day last week, which is 172,000 barrels per day less than the previous week’s average. Refineries operated at 85.9% of their capacity.

Crude oil imports averaged around 8.2 million barrels per day in the same period, which is 561,000 barrels per day more than the week before that.
