EIA: US crude inventories up by 2.2 million barrels

Crude oil inventories in the United States increased by 2.2 million barrels to 449 million barrels in the week ending November 8, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported on Thursday.

US crude oil refinery inputs averaged 15.9 million barrels per day, up by 154,000 barrels per day from the previous week. Refineries operated at 87.8% of their capacity, while gasoline production improved, averaging 10.2 million barrels per day.

Imports of crude oil in the US averaged 5.8 million barrels per day, down by 327,000 barrels per day from the previous week. Total commercial petroleum inventories declined by 5.9 million barrels.
