EIA: US oil inventories up by 3.6M barrels

United States crude oil inventories increased by 3.6 million barrels to 450.8 million barrels for the week ending February 8, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.

Crude oil refinery inputs averaged 15.8 million barrels per day during the same week, which is 865,000 barrels less than the previous week's average. Refineries operated at 85.9% of their capacity. Meanwhile, gasoline production was lower compared to the previous week, averaging 9.6 million barrels per day.

Crude oil imports averaged 6.2 million barrels per day last week, down by 936,000 barrels per day from the previous week. Total commercial petroleum inventories increased by 6.5 million barrels.
