Emergency to be declared in Japan if cases grow - EconMin

Japan's Economic Revitalization Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura (pictured) revealed the nation could reimpose a state of emergency if the daily COVID-19 infections continue to rise.

He went on to urge for the guidelines currently in place to be followed, noting the shops and supermarkets not abiding by the measures provided by the government could be temporarily closed.

The number of people testing positive for the coronavirus per day has been increasing in Japan as of late, with Tokyo recording over 200 cases for several days in a row.
