Equinor's 4 fields in North Sea closed due to strike

Norwegian state-owned energy company Equinor ASA announced on Monday that four of its fields in the North Sea have been closed after trade union Lederne expanded its strike on the Norwegian continental shelf.

The company carried out a "controlled closure" of its Gudrun, Gina Krog, Kvitebjorn and Valemon fields. Norway's third-largest crude oil production site Johan Sverdrup remains operational at the moment, Equinor added.

"The strike is the result of a breach of mediation in the negotiations between the employer organisation Norwegian Oil and Gas Association and the trade union Lederne," Equinor specified in a statement.
