Erdogan offered Zelensky to arrange Putin encounter

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed on Friday he offered his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky to organize an in-person meeting between him and Russia's head of state Vladimir Putin.

Speaking to reporters following his return from Lviv, where he met with Zelensky, Erdogan said he told the Ukrainian president the same "I told Mr. Putin during my visit to Sochi. I reminded Mr. Zelensky that we can have a meeting between them." He underscored that he "reiterated that our solidarity and support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine will continue."

Erdogan thus confirmed the reports he would tell Zelensky about the possibility of arranging a meeting between him and Putin. Following their talks in Lviv, Zelensky remarked that Erdogan's visit sent "a powerful message of support from such a powerful country."
