Erdogan says Iran can join talks on Turkey-Syria relations
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday acknowledged that Iran may participate in the talks on restoring diplomatic ties between Turkey and Syria, in which Russia is currently also set to take part.
"We had proposed to hold trilateral talks, see what happens... That is, Russia, Turkey and Syria... And we can also add Iran," he said in a speech that was broadcast by the Turkish TRT television channel.
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously announced that the meeting on the topic will be held in early February between Ankara, Damascus, and Moscow.
