Erdogan to send Turkish troops to Libya

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Thursday he is sending the country's troops to Libya according to the agreement Turkey has with the Government of National Accord.

White House spokesperson revealed yesterday that Erdogan had a phone conversation with the United States President Donald Trump and that both statesmen discussed Libyan situation including its unsteady ceasefires.

Earlier this week, the warring sides in Libya announced a ceasefire called by Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, even though the head of the UN-recognized Government of National Accord, Fayez al-Sarraj signed the agreement, eastern Libya-based commander Khalifa Haftar left early without signing.
