Erdogan: Western media has lost
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated in a public address following his re-election that the Western media tried to "destroy" him with the stories they printed about him lately but "has lost" eventually.
"No one has lost today; all 85 million have won. Now is the time to unite, to integrate around our national goals and national dreams," Erdogan said, describing the recent election as the most important one in Turkish history's multi-party political life.
Commenting on the recent earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria, Erdogan said that fighting the consequences of the disaster "will continue to be at the top of our priorities." "We have ensured the voluntary return of nearly 600,000 people to the safe areas in Syria. With a new resettlement project we are carrying out with Qatar, we will ensure the return of one million more people in a few years," he stressed.
