EU allows banned lenders to take part in bond sales

The European Commission announced on Friday that it will remove restrictions barring eight global banks from participating in its new debt issuance program.

The European Union's executive body did not specify which lenders, out of the ten which were banned due to recent cases where they were found to have formed cartels in the bond and currency markets, will be allowed to take part in the next syndicated debt sale.

The banks include Barclays plc, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Nomura Holdings Inc., and others.
