EU reportedly to train 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers
The European Union is planning to increase the number of Ukrainian soldiers it is preparing to train from 15,000 to 30,000, various media, such as Le Monde, RIA Novosti, and DPA reported on Wednesday.
"This will be reached probably before the end of the second quarter of this year and there will be a new additional target of a further 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers trained by various European countries," an unnamed EU official told the media on the eve before the European Commission's visit to Kiev.
Back in October, the bloc decided to help Ukraine resist Russia's military operation by training 15,000 soldiers in its camps and facilities.
