EU's Hogan: Brexit delay more likely after recent events

European Union's incoming trade commissioner Phil Hogan stated on Friday that it is more likely Brussels will grant another extension of Article 50 to the United Kingdom in light of recent events in Parliament in London.

However, it is on the UK to find a "workable" solution to the Irish border issue, he stressed.

Last week, British House of Commons adopted a law demanding either an acceptable Brexit deal by October 19 or a withdrawal delay until January 31, so that a new deal could be negotiated. MPs also voted against holding a snap election twice.
