EU to make fighting terrorism 'priority'

The European Commission lowered on Tuesday the flags in front of its headquarters and expressed its condolences over recent attacks that occurred in Austria and France and stressed it would continue to make countering terrorism its priority.

The commission's President Ursula von der Leyen added the victims of the attack would "never" be forgotten and that the European Union would "never bow down to terrorism and violence."

The United States, the European Council, France, Germany, Russia, and Spain all previously condemned the shooting that took place in Vienna the day before, during which at least four people and one perpetrator were killed.
