EU willing to delay Brexit if asked - report

If British Prime Minister Boris Johnson sends a letter to Brussels by midnight asking for another Brexit delay, the European Union will approve it, according to the Guardian's sources.

One of the unnamed senior EU officials quoted by the report said that even French president Emmanuel Macron did not oppose the move.

Through its chief spokeswoman, the European Commission called on the government in London to clarify next steps in regards to Brexit, following the adoption of the Letwin amendment and postponement of the vote on the Brexit deal for next week.
