Euro area inflation up to 1.3% in June

The annual inflation rate in the Eurozone stood at 1.3% in June, up from 1.2% recorded a month earlier, a report published the European Union's statistical office Eurostat on Wednesday showed. Meanwhile, the inflation rate in the entire European Union (EU28) was 1.6%, unchanged from May.

Among member states, the highest inflation rates were recorded in Romania, at 3.9%, and Hungary, at 3.4%, while the lowest rates were observed in Greece, at 0.2%, and Cyprus, at 0.3%.

In June, the largest contributor to the annual euro area inflation was the services sector, contributing 0.73 percentage points, followed by food, alcohol and tobacco with a positive contribution of 0.30 percentage points.
