Euro area producer prices rise by 0.2% in October

Eurozone's producer prices rose by 0.2% in October compared to September, according to Eurostat's latest report on Tuesday. The Producer Price Index (PPI) increased by 0.2% month-on-month in the European Union as well. Compared to October 2022, producer prices dropped 9.4% in the euro area and 8.7% in the EU.

Producer prices in the Eurozone grew by 0.1% on a monthly basis in the energy and durable consumer goods sectors, remaining stable for capital goods, and falling by 0.1% and 0.3% for non-durable consumer goods and intermediate goods respectively. Annually, the PPI plunged 25% for energy and 5.3% for intermediate goods. Prices increased by 3.7% for both capital goods and durable consumer goods and by 4.2% for non-durable consumer goods. Prices in total industry excluding energy decreased by 0.2% from October 2022.
