Euro area unemployment up to 7.3% in April

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the Eurozone stood at 7.3% in April, increasing 0.2 percentage points on a monthly basis, Eurostat's report released on Wednesday showed. On an annual basis, the figure decreased 0.3 points.

At the same time, the unemployment rate in the whole European Union (EU28) was at 6.6%, also up 0.2 points from a month ago and down the same amount compared April 2019.

Among member states, the jobless rate was the lowest in Czechia at 2.1% followed by Poland at 2.9%. On the other hand, the highest unemployment rates was recorded Spain at 14.8%.
