Euro reaches June high against dollar
The euro rallied against the dollar on Monday to arrive at June 9 highs following the week that saw major political turmoil in the United States House of Representatives that required 15 rounds of voting to elect Kevin McCarthy as the next speaker.
Traders continue to be under the influence of last week's reports on US nonfarm payrolls and the continued fall of manufacturing activity in December.
Following the initial peak, the euro traded 0.94% higher against the greenback to change hands for 1.07455 at 5:04 pm CET.
