Europe closes mostly higher amid data

Major European stock indexes closed mostly higher on Wednesday after German inflation showed a slowdown in November. Consumer confidence in the Eurozone and European Union also experienced growth. In addition, data on Eurozone consumer prices and German retail sales will be revealed tomorrow.

The DAX and the pan-European Euro Stoxx 50 closed 1.09% and 0.52% higher with Infineon Tech AG soaring 4.16%. The CAC 40 increased by 0.24% as Stellantis NV surged 5.20%. The FTSE 100 decreased by 0.43% with Entain PLC dragging the index down by 4.10%.

At 5:28 pm CET, the euro lost 0.21% against the dollar, to sell for $1.09661. The pound was down 0.17% compared to the greenback, going for $1.26739 a minute later.
