Europe down at open as data pour in

Stock market indexes in Europe were lower at the start of their sessions on Thursday after new economic reports from Germany and the United Kingdom. Elsewhere, it was reported that European Union institutions reached a deal on artificial intelligence regulation, while EU leaders met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.

The DAX declined 0.24% at 9:03 am CET with its worst performer Continental down 1.61% a minute later. The FTSE 100 was 0.27% lower at 9:00 am CET and IAG moved down 2.72% at 9:04 am CET. The CAC 40 contracted by 0.12% at 9:01 am CET. as Worldline lost 3.49% at 9:05 am CET. The EURO STOXX 50 lost 0.17% at 9:00 am CET with Bayer decreasing 1.62% at 9:20 am CET.

The euro increased 0.17% to $1.07805 and the pound was up 0.20% to $1.25804 at 8:59 am CET.
