Europe flat to higher premarket, trade in focus

European stocks traded flat to higher during the premarket trade on Friday as investors continued to digest the latest trade developments between the United States and China. Meanwhile, Brexit was also in the spotlight after Former mayor of London and prominent Brexiteer Boris Johnson won the most votes, 114, in the first round of leadership elections in the United Kingdom's Conservative Party yesterday. The attacks on oil tankers in the Persian Gulf which spiked oil prices were also in focus, especially after the US accused Iran of being behind the attacks, a claim Tehran categorically denied.

In Germany, the DAX rose 0.02%, the French CAC 40 added 0.05% while London's FTSE 100 increased 0.11% at 7:55 am CET.

The euro fell 0.03% against the US dollar to go for 1.1271 at 7:57 am CET.
