Europe opens higher with Fed, data in focus

Major European markets opened in the green on Thursday as investors digested signals from the US Federal Reserve that it may slow the pace of its rate hikes starting from December. On the data front, market watchers awaited unemployment figures from the Eurozone, as well as manufacturing PMI reports from the euro area, Germany and the United Kingdom.

The FTSE 100 rose 0.27% at 9:00 am CET with Schroders adding 2.62%.

The DAX jumped 1.06% at 9:03 am CET. The best performer was Infineon, whose shares rallied 4.95%.

The CAC 40 climbed 0.70% at 9:01 am CET. Dassault Systemes, up 3.05%, led the gains.

The euro lost 0.05% against the dollar to go for 1.04022 at 9:01 am CET, while the pound gained 0.17% compared to the greenback to sell for 1.20796 at the same time.
