Europe rises premarket amid trade optimism

Stocks in Europe rose in premarket trade on Friday, boosted by trade optimism after the United States and China signed a phase one agreement earlier in the week and the US Senate approved the US-Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA). On the data front, investors awaited inflation figures from the Eurozone and retail sales numbers from the United Kingdom.

The FTSE gained 0.18% at 7:36 am CET, the DAX climbed 0.53% at the same time and the CAC 40 added 0.33% at 8:02 am CET.

The euro and the pound both traded flat against the dollar to go for 1.11383 and 1.30797, respectively, at 7:38 am CET.
