Europe slips premarket with China's unrest in focus

European stock exchanges were below the flatline in the premarket trading on Monday, with the downward trend seemingly fueled by the unrest in China pulling the equities down, as uncertainty in the world's second-largest economy facing new COVID-19 restrictions appeared to spread concern in global markets.

Investors also braced for a week locked with economic data, with a focus on eurozone consumer confidence and consumer price index reports from across the bloc.

Frankfurt's DAX fell by 0.60% at 7:07 am CET. At the same time, the CAC 40% and London's FTSE 100 slipped by 0.53% and 0.56% respectively.

The euro dipped 0.54% against the dollar, to change hands to $1.03542 at 7:11 am CET. The pound sterling was down by 0.36% versus the American currency, going to $1.20546 a minute later.
