Europe turns to gains, DAX, CAC touch new records

Shares on the major stock market indexes in Europe traded higher on Tuesday after starting the session in the red. The CAC 40 and the DAX briefly climbed north of their all-time high marks and pared gains moments later.

The change of sentiment seemingly came after the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) published a better-than-expected report on the euro area's economic sentiment in November.

The DAX rose 0.23% at 12:06 pm CET, while the CAC 40 gained 0.26% at the same time. The FTSE 100 was concurrently up by 0.1%. The euro was flat versus the dollar at 12:08 pm CET, selling for 1.15948, while the pound sterling jumped 0.16% compared to the greenback, to go for 1.35863 at the same time.
