European gas surges after Norway LNG plant restart delayed
European gas prices jumped as much as 10% on Thursday following the decision of Norway's Equinor to delay the restart of the production at the Hammerfest liquefied natural gas terminal following the gas leak at the facility.
Data from Norwegian gas grid operator Gassco indicates that the facility will remain shut down for six extra days, until June 14.
For deliveries in July, UK natural gas futures jumped 9.57% to go for 68.23 pence per therm at 12:28 pm CET. For the same month contracts, Dutch TTF natural gas surged 10% to €28.96 per megawatt hour.
