Eurozone consumer confidence down in Jan

Consumer confidence in the Eurozone fell in January, according to a preliminary report by the European Commission. The consumer confidence indicator for the euro area stood at -15.5, compared to -13.8 in December, while the estimates put it at -15.

For the European Union, the figure dropped 1.6 points to −16.5 in January. According to the release, the indicator "continues scoring well below" its long-term average of −11.0 for the Eurozone and −10.6 for the EU.
