Eurozone consumer confidence slightly up in November

The consumer confidence indicator in both the euro area and the entire European Union experienced positive growth, increasing by 1.1 percentage points and 0.9 percentage points, respectively, compared to the previous month, the European Commission said in its final report on Wednesday, with the indicators reaching negative 16.9 for the euro area and negative 17.5 for the bloc.

The Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) improved by 0.5 points to 93.7 in the EU and by 0.3 points to 93.8 in the euro area, due to "higher confidence among consumers and construction managers." On the other hand, the Employment Expectations Indicator (EEI) fell by 0.5 points to 101.8 in the bloc and dipped by 0.7 points to 102.1 in the euro area.

"Consumer confidence edged up thanks to consumers' improved assessments of developments in their household's past and future financial situation, as well as the general economic situation in their country," the Commission said.
