Eurozone consumer sentiment down by 2.1 pts in November

Consumer confidence in the euro area fell by 2.1 points in November compared to the month prior to land at -17.6 points, according to the European Commission's preliminary report published on Friday. However, the figure managed to exceed analysts' expectations.

Meanwhile, the consumer sentiment indicator for the whole European Union dropped by 2.2 points on a monthly basis to -18.7 in November, marking its lowest level since May amid a resurgence in coronavirus infections across the bloc.

Both indicators were "well below their long-term averages of -11.2 for the Eurozone and -10.6 for the EU, the European Commission said.
