Eurozone industrial production down by 1.6% in June

Industrial production decreased by 1.6% in the euro area, while it was 1.5% lower in the whole European Union (EU28) in July compared to the previous month, Eurostat reported on Wednesday. In the previous month, industrial production in the Eurozone was 0.9% higher while it grew 0.8% in the entire EU.

The decline was led in both the euro area and the whole EU by a drop in capital goods and decline in non-durable consumer goods.

In June, the largest month-on-month declines per member state came from Ireland, where industrial production was down 8.8% and Denmark, where it fell 7.6%. Annually, the largest fall was registered in Germany as industrial production dropped by 6.2%.
