Eurozone inflation increases to 3% in August

The inflation rate for the euro area increased to 3% in August compared to the previous month, according to a report published by Eurostat on Friday. In the same month, the European Union inflation rose to 3.2%.

The lowest annual inflation rates were seen in Malta, Greece and Portugal, while on the other hand, the largest rates were recorded in Estonia, Lithuania and Poland.

The highest contribution to the Eurozone inflation rate came from energy, non-energy industrial goods, as well as food, alcohol & tobacco and services.
