Eurozone inflation rises to 1.6% in April

Eurozone inflation increased to 1.6% in April to meet market estimates and reach a two-year high, according to Eurostat's preliminary report published on Friday.

Energy had the highest annual inflation rate this month, followed by services, food, alcohol and tobacco, as well as non-energy industrial goods.

The largest inflation of over 2% was registered in Lithuania and Luxembourg looking at the data, while on the other hand, Greece and Portugal were the only countries to record slightly negative inflation this month.
