Eurozone manufacturing growth decelerates in Aug.

The Eurozone Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) for August landed at 61.4, representing a 1.4 points decrease compared to July reading, 0.1 point decline compared to an earlier estimate and a six-month low overall, according to the final report by IHS Markit published on Wednesday.

Goods output and total new orders recorded a fourteenth consecutive month of growth, albeit at a slower pace compared to the March highs. New employment figures in the sector in August nearly reached its record documented in the previous month, while price pressures slowed down, but remained at a high level.

"The overriding issue was again a lack of components, however, with suppliers either unable to produce enough parts or are facing a lack of shipping capacity to meet logistics demand," Chief Business Economist at IHS Markit Chris Williamson commented in the report.
