Eurozone Q4 GDP drops 0.6%, beating estimates

The Eurozone economy contracted less-than-expected 0.6% in the last quarter of 2020 compared to the previous trimester, according to Eurostat's preliminary report published on Tuesday.

In the European Union as a whole, the GDP dropped by 0.4% in the same period.

On an annual basis, seasonally adjusted GDP for the euro area declined by 5.0%, while the drop stood at 4.8% in the EU. The figures also represent better-than-expected results.
