Eurozone trade surplus down to €20.6B in June

Euro area's international trade in goods surplus amounted to €20.6 billion in June, narrowing from €22.6 billion recorded a year earlier, the European Union's statistical office Eurostat announced in a first estimate released on Friday.

Eurozone exports to the rest of the world fell by 4.7% year on year to €189.9 billion, while imports declined by 4.1% to €169.3 billion compared to the same month a year ago.

Trade among states within the euro area was recorded at €160.5 billion in June, marking a 6.6% drop on an annual basis. In the whole European Union (EU28), the trade surplus in June stood at €6.1 billion.
