Eurozone trade surplus up to €20.7 billion in July

Euro area trade surplus came in at €20.7 billion in July, according to the first estimate by Eurostat released on Thursday. In the same month, the entire European Union (EU27) registered a trade surplus of €15.7 billion.

Exports of goods from the euro area to the rest of the world stood at €206 billion in July, up 11.4% year-on-year, while imports advanced by 17.1% on a yearly basis to reach €185.3 billion, the data revealed.

Meanwhile, EU27 exports rose 10.3% to €186.1 billion on the year, while imports were reported at €170.4 billion in the same month, marking an 18.7% increase on an annual level.
