EU's Dombrovskis: Can't exclude no-deal Brexit

Executive Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis claimed on Monday that he wouldn't exclude a no-deal Brexit as an outcome of the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union, despite the solution not being appealing.

Dombrovskis insisted that London shouldn't expect to receive special treatment in the post-Brexit trade negotiations with Brussels. The statement comes as a response to the recently approved Internal Market Bill by the British parliament that is opposing the already signed Brexit withdrawal agreement.

If a comprehensive trade deal isn't reached and in power by the end of the year, border checks will likely be introduced, and tariffs on goods will be applied under the terms set by the World Trade Organization.
