FB announces policy changes to comply with GDPR

Social media giant Facebook, Inc. announced "new privacy experiences," in order to comply with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the company's execs Erin Egan and Ashlie Beringer said in a blog post.

The tech company said they would be asking users to make choices on information in their profile, ads based on data from partners and whether or not they want to allow facial recognition technology, which was turned off in Europe six years ago.

Recently, following the data breach scandal, an investor urged other shareholders to push for an installment of an oversight committee for the company.
