Fed's Mester: Inclusivity important for economy

Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland President Loretta Mester noted on Monday that providing opportunities for minorities is important for having a stronger economy.

She stressed the United States' economic capability would not "live up to its full potential" unless it takes a more inclusive approach.

Earlier this month, Mester warned the economy would need more financial support to weather the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic and "provide a bridge for households, small businesses, and state and local municipalities."
