Ford halts work at more plants due to chip shortage

Ford Motor Company revealed on Wednesday that it will temporarily stop production at several additional factories, as the global shortage of semiconductor chips continues to hurt the auto industry.

Work will be halted from one to three weeks in April in the Dearborn truck plant, the "truck side" of the Kansas City assembly plant, the Louisville Assembly Plant, and the Oakville assembly complex.

The company's "super shifts" will be canceled in April, May and June in Dearborn, Kansas City, Chicago and Ohio.
