Foster believes no-deal Brexit 'likeliest outcome' - report

The head of Northern Irish party Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) Arlene Foster believes that a no-deal Brexit is the "likeliest outcome" following last week's "hostile and difficult" meeting with European Union's Chief Brexit negotiator Michael Barnier.

According to the leaked email by an adviser involved in the Brexit talks seen by The Observer paper, Foster had dinner with the leader of the Conservative Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) Ashley Fox during which she expressed deep disappointment about her meeting with Barnier and said that the DUP "were ready for a no-deal scenario, which she now believed was the likeliest one.”

The official said in the email that it was not clear whether Foster was the government or informing if of her plans.
