France could introduce curfew in Paris, Lyon - report

The French government is considering introducing tighter coronavirus containment measures in Paris, Lyon, and Marseille, which would include a curfew starting at 7 pm and shutting down non-essential retail, a report by the Bild claimed.

On Monday, several media outlets reported that France could impose stricter measures to curb the spread of the virus in the country. According to Bild, the new measures could take effect on Friday, and the final decision will be made two days prior.

The number of daily infections in the country rose to more than 52,000 on Sunday, with the total number of COVID cases surpassing 1million.
